Arrow of Light and Bridge to Scouting

Arrow of Light Award
The Arrow of Light Award is the highest award in Cub Scouting. The boy will need a total of eight Activity Pins, including Citizen, Readyman, and Fitness (which he has already earned when he received his Webelos Badge). The Arrow of Light Award is worn on their left shirt pocket flap, and is the only Cub Scout Award worn on the Boy Scout uniform. Because this award is so special, a special ceremony should always be performed by the Pack!

While working towards the Arrow of Light badge, a Webelos Scout is encouraged to continue with scouting as a Boy Scout. By the time he earns his Arrow of Light badge, he will have shown his knowledge of the requirements to become a Boy Scout by learning the Scout Oath or Promise and the 12 points of the Scout Law and understanding how they are practiced in everyday life. He will know the Scout motto, slogan, sign, salute and handshake and their meanings. He will understand the significance of the First Class Scout badge and what it stands for. He will know how to distinguish the Boy Scout Uniform from a Webelos uniform. He will have actively participated in at least one Boy Scout meeting and a Boy Scout outdoor activity and will have had a conference with a Scoutmaster. He is ready to become a Boy Scout! His final act as a Webelos Scout will be to cross the bridge to Boy Scouting.
